Personalized Custom Quilt with Matching Pillows | Custom Made Cottage Decor
Personalize your decor with this lovely quilted throw blanket and two matching pillows! Inspired by a friend, I loved the concept so much that I am offering this custom made combination to you as 'made to order' decor for your home, cottage or cabin.
You will choose your color scheme and personalization for the quilt and pillow, using patterns shown in photos.
The quilted throw is generously sized and measures about 84 x 72 inches when finished. Suitable for tall people!
The quilted pillows are 16 inches square and include the pillow forms.
Depending on the time of year, it may take me two to three months to complete your items.
Finished project is shipped with insurance and tracking.
Please note: I am willing to do installment payments; so don't hesitate to send me a message if you would prefer this option. I ask for 50% up front, half of remaining when I add the personalization, and the final amount upon completion, before shipping.
Note: the quilt shown is only a sample to show the pattern and personalization ideas.
**In regards to your project itself, following are some details and a number of options you will have:
> Your quilt and pillows will be made with the same pattern but in the color scheme of your choice. Fabric choices will be done via email conversations between yourself and me, using photos. You can be involved with the selection as much or as little as you like.
> You will be able to choose what components you want to include eg. throw quilt plus two pillows or one pillow.
> And, of course, you may choose your own personalization on the top and bottom of the quilt. (up to 15 characters on each location)
Note: in the quilt shown, the client used part of the address and the year her cottage was purchased. You could also use family name, a short meaningful phrase or slogan, etc. This is the part that really makes it your own!! :)
> You will choose your backing: quilting cotton (like the front) or the soft, slightly fuzzy cotton fabric shown in the photos, called Fireside.
I do all quilting myself on my longarm using the freemotion technique (not computer). You will have some choice on the stitching pattern if you do not care for the feather stitching shown.
All items are made by myself, in my smoke free, pet free home. I use quality fabrics, conscientious, careful construction and work ethics to ensure your investment will last many, many years with normal care and use.

Features
I always use quality fabrics and thread. In addition, I am conscientious about making sure I use a full seam allowance. I never leave fabrics holding together by a few threads. This ensures a quality, handmade item, that will withstand normal care and use for many years.
The inner batting layer is usually Pellon or Hobbs 80/20. Occasionally I use a bamboo batting.
Binding is always double thickness and attached by machine for added durability, with neat mitered corners.
The nice thing about quilts is that the more you use them the softer and more snuggly they become. Don’t be afraid to use them wherever you want to be. After all, we wear cotton fabrics everyday in our clothes… your quilt won’t fall apart before it gets well loved!
Care
Care
I have often washed my own quilts in with a regular wash load, with no regrets. However, it is still recommended to use a gentle cycle, mild soap and tumble drying on low heat. (** Note: I rarely prewash my fabrics. Expect a small amount of shrinkage on the first laundering.) It is the tumble drying that achieves the soft crinkly look that we associate with handmade quilts. If you prefer a flatter look, lay flat to air dry… do not dry in the dryer.
Remember that sunlight will fade any fabric, and your quilt is no exception. So; have a care when you leave it outside frequently or in a sunny window.
